About the Artist

Gladys LeBlanc Clark is a master Cajun weaver. A National Endowment for the Arts’ National Heritage Fellowship recipient in 1997, Gladys LeBlanc Clark grew up in Lafayette Parish, Louisiana where she started weaving at age eight. She continues the time-honored Cajun tradition of growing, spinning and weaving brown cotton into a variety of beautiful and useful textiles including table cloths, table runners and place mats.
